Our client, Bradford Council, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their Adult Social Care team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker who is passionate about safeguarding vulnerable adults, promoting independence, and delivering person-centred, strengths-based practice in line with current legislation and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake preventative and early intervention work to delay or reduce the development of care and support needs, helping individuals maintain independence and well-being.
- Deliver high-quality social work practice that upholds professional values, human rights, and safeguarding responsibilities in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Human Rights Act 1998, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Lead and manage Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, ensuring a person-centred and proportionate approach to risk management while promoting Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, contributing to safeguarding forums and panels including MAPPA, MARAC, and Prevent initiatives.
- Apply a Think Family approach, working closely with colleagues across Adult and Children's Services to deliver coordinated interventions and statutory responsibilities.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, identify needs, and develop effective support plans for individuals, families, and carers.
- Manage a complex caseload involving high-risk and high-complexity situations, exercising sound professional judgement and decision-making.
- Prepare reports and provide evidence for court proceedings and other legal forums where required.
- Promote positive risk-taking and least restrictive practice while balancing individual rights, public protection, and legal responsibilities.
- Lead and chair multi-disciplinary meetings, reviews, and planning forums where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in accordance with professional standards, the Data Protection Act 2018, and UK GDPR requirements.
