About the Role:
A highly regarded secondary school in Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Business & Economics Teacher to join their team in September 2025. This position is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time work and offers the opportunity to teach GCSE and A-Level students in a supportive and ambitious department.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to co-curricular life, including workshops, competitions, trips, and enrichment days. You will play an integral part in shaping student's understanding of the world of business and economics while being part of a high-performance, service-driven school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Business Studies and/or Economics from Key Stage 4 through to Key Stage 5.
- Lead a form/tutor group and contribute to the pastoral support system.
- Maintain a well-organised and engaging learning space, with current and relevant displays.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with departmental policies.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental meetings, and collaborative planning.
- Actively engage in the co-curricular life of the school (e.g., trips, competitions, business clubs).
- Participate in CPD opportunities and share best practice within the department and wider school.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a Business & Economics Teacher who:
- Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has a strong subject background in Business and/or Economics.
- Is highly organised, reliable, and pays attention to detail.
- Thrives in a meritocratic and service-focused environment.
- Is reflective, open to feedback, and committed to ongoing development.
- Can demonstrate confident humility, resilience, and a collaborative approach.
- Is committed to supporting both academic and co-curricular activities.
