Our client in Staffordshire is looking for an experienced Children's Services Team Manager to provide strong professional leadership within their Children's Services team. This role will focus on safeguarding, effective practice, quality assurance, and ensuring children, young people and their families receive high-quality support in line with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the Authority's statutory responsibilities relating to children's safeguarding, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Provide professional leadership, motivation, and direction to a team of qualified social workers, family practitioners, and other professionals.
- Lead the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring the safe and effective allocation and progression of work within statutory frameworks.
- Ensure high standards of professional practice and effective supervision across the team, in line with relevant knowledge and skills standards and legislation.
- Identify and implement service improvements through audits, quality assurance, bench-marking, training needs, and the interpretation and dissemination of legislation and guidance.
- Investigate and respond appropriately to complaints, MP enquiries, and complex case enquiries, including contributing to serious case reviews and learning reviews where required.
- Work collaboratively through relevant boards, partnership committees, locality arrangements, and multi-agency meetings.
- Develop and maintain strong internal, local, regional, national, and multi-agency partnerships to promote and influence best practice.
- Ensure information is appropriately shared with partners and stakeholders in accordance with legal requirements and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Ensure the effective management and use of available staffing and financial resources, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and Stafford shire County Council guidance.
