Our client, North East Lincolnshire Council, is seeking an experienced Social Worker to provide high-quality statutory social work services to vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong assessment and safeguarding expertise, excellent court work experience, and a passion for achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families through high-quality, relationship-based social work practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a complex caseload involving children in need, child protection, looked after children, and family court proceedings.
- Complete comprehensive assessments, risk analyses, and outcome-focused care plans to safeguard children and support families.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review Child in Need and Child Protection plans, ensuring timely interventions.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and day-to-day support to less experienced Social Workers, including line management responsibilities where required.
- Deputise for the Case Supervisor, providing oversight, case direction, and attending meetings and panels as necessary.
- Build effective relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, child-centred support.
- Undertake direct work with children and families, ensuring their wishes and feelings are central to decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and applications, representing Children's Services in Family Court when required.
- Carry out statutory duties for children in need and looked after children, advocating for their best interests at every stage.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records, assessments, chronologies, and reports in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings, case reviews, and professional forums to promote effective safeguarding and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, advice, and signposting to children, families, and carers, helping them access appropriate community support and services.
