Our client at Oldham Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment and Intervention Team, this team undertakes assessment and intervention that involves duty response up to child protection/first hearings.
Expectations are:
- undertake duty days and respond to S47 enquiries
- Convene Child In Need meetings and utilise SMART planning to effect positive change for families
- Undertake child and family assessments to ensure risks and strengths are clearly understood and responded to.
- Provide intervention to children and families with difficulties/challenges they are experiencing
- Ensure accurate record keeping on the file inclusive of contingency planning
- Work as part of a team supporting one another when needed to ensure children remain safe.
There is parking on site which is paid for however a permit can be obtained for a reduced monthly fee
Work hours are 8.40am start until 5pm subject to responding to any urgent needs that take you beyond this time and own diary organisation with TOIL allowed to be taken back if carefully tracked.
5 years reference, gaps in employment history checked, any relevant quals as per JDPS
