Our client, Islington Council, is seeking an experienced CIN/CP Social Worker who will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and care leavers. The post holder manages statutory casework, ensuring children at risk of harm are protected, supported, and achieve improved outcomes through effective assessment, planning, and intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people in need of support, protection, and care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive outcomes remain at the centre of all interventions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to promote meaningful change and improve outcomes.
- Undertake child-focused assessments, care planning, reviews, and interventions, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all decision-making.
- Apply trauma-informed and motivational practice approaches to engage children, young people, and families effectively.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to assess needs, manage risk, and coordinate support services.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, including abuse and neglect, and lead investigations where necessary to protect children and young people.
- Prepare clear, analytical, and evidence-based reports, assessments, and case records for internal processes, legal proceedings, and statutory reviews.
- Demonstrate sound professional judgement in assessing risk, planning interventions, and reviewing outcomes to ensure support remains effective and proportionate.
- Utilise legislation, statutory guidance, and regulatory frameworks to inform practice and safeguard children and young people.
- Participate actively in supervision, reflective practice, and continuous professional development to enhance service delivery and professional growth.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and the rights of children and families while maintaining compliance with safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and professional standards.
