Our client, North Yorkshire Council, is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Disabled Children's Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong assessment, safeguarding, and court work experience, who is passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred practice and improving outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children, ensuring effective assessment, planning, intervention, and review.
- Complete comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans that promote the safety and well-being of children.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated support and achieve positive outcomes.
- Attend and chair meetings where appropriate, contributing to multi-agency planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records, reports, and documentation, including preparing evidence for court proceedings when required.
- Undertake safeguarding investigations, assess risk, and take appropriate statutory action, including emergency interventions and court applications where necessary.
- Promote relationship-based practice by building positive working relationships with children, young people, families, and carers.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to families, helping to strengthen support networks and reduce the need for care or accommodation wherever possible.
- Participate in regular supervision, performance reviews, and continuous professional development, contributing to service improvement and best practice.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, data protection requirements, organisational policies, and professional standards.
