Our client in Havering is looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their team, supporting children, young people and their families and working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring cases are effectively managed in accordance with relevant procedures, legislation and departmental guidelines.
- Assess and manage risk and need, providing appropriate protective and supportive services to children and young people who are at risk, in need and/or looked after.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessments, care plans and reviews, ensuring these are completed within the required timescales.
- Assess and analyse the needs of children and young people, contributing to and implementing care plans and reviewing progress against identified outcomes.
- Ensure the welfare and best interests of the child remain paramount throughout all decision-making and practice.
- Produce high-quality, accurate and timely reports in line with professional standards and agreed timescales.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, promoting effective multi-agency working and information sharing.
- Attend and contribute to professional meetings, including child protection conferences, case conferences and court hearings, representing the department where required.
- Undertake direct work with children, young people and their families in line with agreed care plans, with a focus on improving outcomes.
- Carry out statutory responsibilities in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, legislation and professional practice.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies, departmental initiatives and developments within social work practice.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with professionals across statutory, private and voluntary agencies.
- Demonstrate sound professional judgement when assessing risk, identifying need and making decisions that promote positive outcomes.
- Promote equality of opportunity and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences.
