Our client in Lewisham is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to provide a statutory social work service to children, young people and their families/carers, supporting assessment, intervention, case planning and review in line with the needs of the team and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake statutory social work responsibilities across allocated cases, including short-term assessment work where required.
- Provide effective assessment, intervention, case planning and review to children, young people and their families/carers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work undertaken, ensuring service users are aware of their rights to access their records.
- Ensure service users are informed of their right to make complaints regarding the services they receive.
- Prepare high-quality case reports and correspondence for a range of audiences, including meetings, conferences, courts, partner agencies and service users.
- Ensure all social work practice is carried out in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, professional guidance and legislation.
- Ensure the needs of service users and carers from all communities are appropriately addressed, with due consideration given to equality and diversity throughout all aspects of practice.
- Participate in the service unit's duty systems as required.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies and other professionals relevant to the work of the service.
- Accurately input and maintain case information using relevant IT and information systems.
- Promote a safe working environment by taking responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and other staff, particularly in relation to risks of violence.
- Attend and participate fully in supervision in accordance with the department's supervision policy.
