Deputy Team Manager - Children's Safeguarding Team

Our client in Bath and North East Somerset Council is looking for an experienced care professional to support the operational delivery of their care services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide management support to the Registered Manager/Specialist Provider Services Manager, ensuring services comply with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and organisational policies.

• Assess and monitor care provision in line with individual needs and Care Act assessments, promoting independence and supporting service users to achieve their full potential.

• Oversee the day-to-day deployment of staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet service demands and deliver safe, high-quality care in line with CQC standards.

• Resolve urgent and short-term staffing and allocation issues, while also contributing to longer-term workforce planning.

• Manage and supervise an operational care team, ensuring staff are supported and equipped to provide high-quality care and support.

• Support recruitment, staff induction, training, operational issues and performance management.

• Complete and monitor risk assessments to promote the safety and wellbeing of staff, tenants and service users.

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date care records are maintained, providing a clear and auditable record of care delivered, incidents and individual wellbeing.

• Monitor service performance and provision, producing accurate data and reports against targets to support service reviews, effectiveness and continuous improvement.

• Identify safeguarding concerns and ensure appropriate referrals are made to the Registered Manager/Specialist Provider Services Manager to safeguard vulnerable service users.

• Contribute to improving service effectiveness by identifying, proposing and implementing changes to working practices and service delivery.

• Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including social workers, housing colleagues, health professionals, families and third-sector organisations, to promote effective partnership working.
