Full-Time | Permanent | £38,000 - £50,000 per year (DOE)
We are working on behalf of a well-established Alternative Provision in Trafford to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for a full-time, permanent position.
This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for leading and developing effective safeguarding and child protection practice across the provision, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, with overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection
Lead on safeguarding policies, procedures and best practice in line with statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education
Manage safeguarding concerns, referrals, casework and accurate record keeping
Liaise with external agencies including social care, health services, police and the local authority
Provide advice, guidance and safeguarding training to staff
Promote a strong safeguarding culture across the provision in collaboration with senior leaders
Candidate Requirements
Relevant DSL training with up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation
Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting
Experience in a PRU, SEMH school or alternative provision is highly desirable
Mainstream school safeguarding experience will be considered
Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively with vulnerable young people and families
