Higher Level Teaching Assistant | Bolton, Greater Manchester

We are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Bolton that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled practitioner to take on additional responsibilities, including delivering lessons and supporting pupil progress across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and senior staff, providing high-quality learning support, leading small groups, and occasionally covering classes when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.

  • Lead small group interventions and provide 1:1 support where needed.

  • Plan and deliver lessons under the direction of teaching staff.

  • Cover whole classes in the absence of the teacher when required.

  • Support children with additional needs to ensure full inclusion.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Assist with preparing, adapting, and developing learning resources.


Requirements

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.

  • Previous experience working as a HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant in a school setting.

  • Ability to deliver lessons and lead learning activities confidently.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
