Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEMH Secondary School | Greenwich

We are working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Greenwich that is seeking a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role, with start dates available immediately or from September 2025.
Role Overview:
As HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEMH needs by delivering targeted interventions, leading small group or 1:1 sessions, and stepping in for teacher-led lessons where required. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to ensure that each student receives consistent, tailored support.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering engaging learning activities under teacher guidance
Leading small groups or whole-class sessions when needed
Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional development strategies
Contributing to EHCP reviews and behaviour intervention plans
Acting as a role model and consistent adult presence for vulnerable students
Essential Requirements:
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
Previous experience in an SEMH or alternative provision setting
Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A calm, nurturing, and adaptable approach
Ability to lead learning sessions with confidence and autonomy
