About the Role
We're supporting a local authority in Devon in sourcing a confident, solutions-focused Housing Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with strong frontline housing experience, excellent case management skills, and the ability to support residents with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement.
Key Role Overview
Manage a varied caseload of tenants, providing proactive housing advice and support.
Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining thorough, accurate records.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and community partners.
Ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies, and safeguarding requirements.
Respond effectively to housing issues, tenancy breaches, and complex resident enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct tenancy sustainment assessments and create tailored support plans.
Investigate reports of ASB, arrears, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches.
Carry out home visits, property inspections, and welfare checks as required.
Prepare written reports, recommendations, and case notes to a professional standard.
Support residents in accessing specialist services, benefits, and community resources.
Manage escalations and resolve issues in a timely, customer-focused manner.
Contribute to continuous improvement of housing services and resident experience.
