Housing Officer

We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to manage a patch of approximately 250-300 properties, delivering a high-quality housing management service to residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for tenancy management, rent collection and arrears recovery, allocations and voids management, resident engagement, and managing anti-social behaviour cases. You will work closely with support services and external stakeholders to help residents sustain their tenancies and build strong communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a designated housing patch and provide an effective tenancy management service.
• Maximise rental income and oversee rent and service charge collection.
• Manage arrears cases, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit matters.
• Monitor and reduce void turnaround times.
• Investigate and manage ASB and tenancy breaches.
• Prepare and serve legal notices and complete pre-court documentation.
• Represent the organisation at court hearings and external meetings.

About You

• Previous housing management experience.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practices.
• Experience in arrears recovery, financial inclusion and debt management.
• Experience of legal proceedings, court attendance or transferable enforcement experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and organisational abilities.
