Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Officer to join a specialist Housing Association providing supported housing for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
This is a field-based role covering a patch across North London and Hertfordshire, including areas such as:
- Enfield
- Hillingdon
- Stevenage
- Watford
- Surrounding North London & Hertfordshire locations
You'll take ownership of your own patch, working closely with residents, support providers and external agencies to deliver a high-quality housing management service.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently, can confidently manage a busy caseload and is comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a patch of supported housing properties
- Complete tenancy sign-ups and tenancy sustainment visits
- Carry out estate inspections and home visits
- Investigate and manage ASB and tenancy breaches
- Manage voids and lettings
- Support Housing Benefit applications and tenancy-related queries
- Monitor rent accounts and work alongside income teams
- Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals
- Coordinate repairs with contractors and internal teams
- Build strong relationships with support providers, local authorities and external agencies
- Maintain accurate housing records and ensure compliance with housing legislation
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer or Tenancy Officer
- Housing Association or Social Housing experience
- Strong tenancy management experience
- Experience managing ASB cases
- Estate inspections
- Safeguarding knowledge
- Rent arrears and tenancy sustainment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Willingness to travel across North London and Hertfordshire
- Right to work in the UK
