Location: Muswell Hill, North London

We are currently recruiting for an excellent ICT teacher to join a team of deaf and hearing staff in a secondary school in North London. This position would be placed in a school for students with hearing impairments, working within small classes with additional support staff in a friendly, professional atmosphere where staff retention is high.

As this position takes place with a school for students with hearing impairments, experience and qualifications in BSL (British Sign Language) is desired, however this is not essential as BSL training up to level 3 can be provided!

A successful candidate will:

  • have experience of teaching at a secondary level
  • have experience of working with children with SEND
  • have excellent planning and differentiation skills
  • have knowledge of British Sign Language or a commitment to work towards a minimum of BSL Level 3
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People (ToD) qualification is desirable but not essential, however a successful applicant without this training would be supported to undergo training to gain this mandatory qualification, as well as any other additional support and training required, funded by the school.
