We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Care Support Assistant to join a specialist college provision in the Harrow area on a temporary basis.
This role involves supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs within a college environment.
About the Role
Providing 1:1 and small group support to learners with PMLD
Assisting with personal care (toileting, feeding, hygiene)
Supporting students with mobility needs (moving and handling)
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists
Supporting communication through PECS, Makaton, or other visual aids
Promoting independence, dignity and inclusion
Student Needs Include
Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
Complex medical needs
Physical disabilities
Non-verbal communication
Sensory needs
Personal care requirements
Ideal Candidate
Experience working with PMLD or complex needs
Team Teach (desirable but not essential)
Manual handling training
Patient, resilient and nurturing approach
Experience within SEN school or college settings
