Are you passionate about supporting young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Further Education college seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join their inclusive learning support team.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the Learning Support team to provide tailored support for learners with a range of additional needs, helping them succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Assist learners to fully access teaching, learning and wider college activities.
Promote independence, confidence and self-advocacy.
Support learners in achieving the outcomes outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required.
Help create safe, inclusive and accessible learning environments.
Monitor learner progress and contribute to person-centred support plans.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
Ensure specialist equipment and assistive technology are available and used effectively.
Report safeguarding, health and safety or welfare concerns promptly.
Act as, or be willing to train as, a College First Aider.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Good standard of general education.
Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
Passion for supporting learners with additional needs.
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good IT skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible, proactive and reliable approach to work.
Willingness to support learners with personal care and mobility where required.
Commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.
Desirable:
Experience supporting young people or adults with SEN in a school or Further Education setting.
Experience working within a multicultural environment.
First Aid qualification.
Knowledge of Makaton, British Sign Language (BSL) or Sign-a-Long.
