School Caretaker - Job Description
Job Purpose:
To maintain a safe, secure, clean, and well-functioning school environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Open and lock school buildings and premises as required.
Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Ensure the school grounds are clean, tidy, and safe.
Monitor heating, lighting, and security systems.
Set up rooms and equipment for school activities and events.
Report and assist with health and safety issues.
Liaise with contractors and support site security procedures.
Requirements:
Good practical maintenance and repair skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible approach to work.
Previous caretaking, facilities, or maintenance experience desirable.
