Are you a resilient and compassionate individual with experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated specialist school catering to pupils aged 7-19 (KS2-KS5) with complex needs.
🧠 About the School:
This SEMH provision supports pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who may present with:
Neurodiverse needs, including ADHD, ASC, and related conditions
Diagnosed mental health conditions
Social, emotional and behavioural challenges that have previously led to exclusion or difficulties in mainstream or alternative settings
Looked After Children (LAC) requiring consistent and stable educational support
The school provides a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs.
✅ What We're Looking For:
Experience with SEMH - whether from education, care, youth work, or mental health settings
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with vulnerable students
A resilient, calm and patient approach
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
A team player who can adapt to the needs of a fast-paced, high-impact environment
📌 Key Responsibilities:
Support students in class and on a 1:1 basis to access learning
Help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and build confidence
Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
