We are currently seeking dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH primary and secondary school in South East London. These full-time roles are to start in September 2025 on a temp-to-perm basis.
About the Role:
You will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviour, both in and out of the classroom. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals, your role will be to help create a nurturing, structured and safe learning environment that enables every child to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with SEMH and behavioural needs on a one-to-one or small group basis
Promote positive behaviour and help implement behaviour management strategies
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities
Contribute to students' social and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
Strong understanding of mental health and trauma-informed approaches
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
Ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a dynamic school environment
