Our client, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children's Services team, delivering high-quality, child-focused social work that supports children and families to achieve positive and lasting outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker who is confident in assessment, safeguarding, analytical practice, and court work. The ideal candidate will be committed to relationship-based practice, professional curiosity, and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive, child-focused assessments that identify strengths, needs, and risks and inform clear plans and interventions.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people, families, and carers to support meaningful and sustainable change.
- Lead and contribute to safeguarding enquiries, including responding appropriately to allegations of harm and concerns regarding children's safety.
- Develop and implement purposeful interventions that promote the safety, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes of children and young people.
- Prepare clear, analytical reports and maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to provide coordinated, effective support and safeguard children.
- Ensure the voice, wishes, and feelings of children and families are reflected throughout assessment, planning, and decision-making.
- Represent the service in court proceedings when required, preparing robust evidence and presenting professional analysis.
- Participate in reflective practice, supervision, team development, and wider service improvement initiatives.
- Contribute positively to a supportive team culture and maintain high standards of professional practice.
