Our client, Newham Council, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their busy Adult Social Care service on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will undertake ASC Occupational Therapy assessments, with a particular focus on moving and handling assessments, risk assessments, care package reviews and standard adaptations. You will work closely with residents, families, care coordinators and home care providers to ensure appropriate and effective support is in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy assessments.
- Undertake moving and handling assessments, risk assessments and handling plans.
- Carry out DHC to SHC reviews and assess the appropriateness of existing care packages.
- Work closely with home care providers, care coordinators, service users and families, including undertaking assessments within resident's homes.
- Assess for and provide postural and seating assessments.
- Assess and recommend appropriate equipment, care and support solutions.
- Produce basic drawings for standard adaptations, including LAS adaptations.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records using Azeus Care.
- Manage an allocated caseload effectively and work to agreed deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals within a busy Adult Social Care environment.
- Participate in relevant in-service training and professional development.
- Work under the supervision of the OT Practice Manager.
