Our client in Devon is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join their specialist Pre-Birth Team.

Working with expectant parents and their support networks, you will help ensure babies have the safest and strongest possible start by promoting early intervention, robust assessment, and positive family outcomes.
🔹 About the Role
As a Social Worker within the Pre-Birth Team, you will support families throughout pregnancy and beyond, ensuring that babies remain at the centre of all assessment, planning, and decision-making.
You will build meaningful relationships with parents, work collaboratively with partner agencies, and undertake comprehensive assessments that support both safety and long-term stability.

👶 Early Pregnancy
* Build relationships with expectant parents
* Explore family histories, strengths, and potential areas of concern
👶 Mid Pregnancy
* Undertake in-depth assessments through observation, reflection, and multi-agency collaboration
* Gather information to inform risk analysis and planning
👶 Late Pregnancy
* Support families to prepare emotionally and practically for the arrival of their baby
* Develop robust safeguarding and care plans
👶 Pre-Birth Planning
* Work restoratively with families and support networks
* Create sustainable plans that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes
👶 At Birth and Beyond
* Ensure plans are implemented effectively and sensitively
* Maintain a focus on permanence, attachment, and the baby's long-term wellbeing
🔹 About You
We are looking for a reflective and compassionate practitioner who understands the importance of early intervention and the lasting impact of a child's earliest experiences.
You will have:
✔ A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
✔ Completion of your ASYE and commitment to ongoing professional development
✔ Strong knowledge of pre-birth assessments, attachment theory, and child development
✔ Experience of risk assessment, safety planning, and informed decision-making
✔ The ability to engage families through a restorative and strengths-based approach
✔ Experience working within multi-agency partnerships and court processes
✔ A commitment to keeping the baby's lived experience at the centre of practice
