Our client, Northamptonshire Children's Trust, is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join their Children's Services team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, undertaking statutory assessments and providing effective support to children and families, with a strong focus on safeguarding, risk management and achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Initial, Core and specialist assessments in line with statutory guidance and required timescales.
- Manage cases of varying complexity, assessing risk and coordinating appropriate support packages and intervention plans.
- Work directly with children and families, providing advice, guidance and support while promoting independence and empowerment.
- Develop effective relationships with families, carers and partner agencies to ensure children's needs are appropriately met.
- Coordinate multi-agency support and take a professional lead where required.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, planning meetings and reviews to assess needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records, assessments and reports in line with legislative and departmental requirements.
- Prepare and provide written and verbal evidence for court proceedings, adoption and fostering panels where required.
- Undertake assessments and planning associated with legal proceedings and contribute evidence to safeguard children at risk.
- Implement court-directed actions within required timescales, including arrangements for children requiring alternative care or foster placements.
- Work collaboratively with health, education, police and other partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and families.
- Manage and respond appropriately to risk and safeguarding concerns, ensuring children's safety and well-being remain central to decision-making.
- Promote equality, inclusion and respect for the individual needs of children and families.
- Work within relevant legislation, policies, professional standards and health and safety requirements.
