Our client, Hillingdon Council, is seeking an experienced Social Worker to provide high-quality, child-centred support to children, young people, and families through assessment, intervention, safeguarding, and early help services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with experience in Family Help, CIN, Child Protection, safeguarding, and multi-agency working. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong assessment and analytical skills, professional curiosity, and a commitment to empowering families while achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen and triage new referrals through the Front Door, ensuring timely and proportionate responses that prioritise children's safety and well being.
- Undertaking Family Help assessments and develop clear, outcome-focused plans addressing identified needs, risks, and strengths.
- Manage a caseload of complex families, including Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases.
- Carry out effective safeguarding interventions and ensure statutory requirements, procedures, and timescales are met.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people, families, and carers, ensuring their voices, wishes, and experiences remain central to decision-making.
- Apply strengths-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches to promote resilience, engagement, and sustainable change.
- Provide practical guidance and coaching around parenting, routines, behaviour management, budgeting, and accessing community resources.
- Work collaboratively with health, education, housing, police, probation, and voluntary and community organisations to provide coordinated support.
- Chair Family Help meetings and contribute to multi-agency conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings where required.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and analytical case records, assessments, plans, and reports in line with legal and organisational requirements.
- Contribute to quality assurance, audits, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in reflective supervision, training, professional development, and a culture of learning and anti-discriminatory practice.
- Remain adaptable and resilient when responding to complex and high-risk situations and contribute to wider safeguarding and emergency arrangements when required.
