Our client in Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join their Children's Services team. The successful candidate will work with children, young people and families to improve well-being, safeguard children where necessary, and promote positive outcomes and independence.
The role involves managing an allocated caseload, completing assessments, identifying risks and safeguarding needs, and developing and reviewing multi-agency plans to ensure children and families receive appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an allocated caseload of children, young people and families.
- Undertake assessments of need, risk and safeguarding concerns.
- Develop, coordinate and review multi-agency plans to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary and partner agencies.
- Promote the well-being, safety and independence of children and young people.
- Identify unmet needs and gaps in service provision to support service development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the Integrated Children's System (ICS).
- Work within relevant legislation, statutory duties, council policies and social work standards.
- Participate in professional supervision, team meetings, training and continuous professional development.
- Share knowledge, theory and best practice to support service improvement.
- Provide professional guidance and support to newly qualified and less experienced Social Workers.
- Work flexibly across Cheshire West and Chester, attending different locations according to the needs of the service and families.
