Our client, Enfield Council, is seeking an experienced Social Worker to provide specialist social work services to disabled children, young people, and their families.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with specialist experience in Disabled Children's Services, who is confident undertaking assessments, care planning, safeguarding, and multi-agency working. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of statutory children's social care duties and be committed to achieving positive outcomes for disabled children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments and care management for disabled children and their families, identifying needs and appropriate support.
- Make recommendations for services in line with Children's Services thresholds, eligibility criteria, and available resources.
- Provide a high-quality social work service to designated children, young people, and families.
- Develop, monitor, and review care plans in partnership with disabled children, young people, their families, and relevant professionals.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate appropriate services and support.
- Maintain accurate case records and use management information systems effectively to record, retrieve, and analyse information.
- Ensure services and recommendations are delivered within relevant financial regulations and make effective use of available funding and resources.
- Prepare reports, statements, and legal documentation within required timescales and represent Children's Services in Family Proceedings and Court when required.
- Investigate concerns relating to neglect, abuse, or ill-treatment and undertake appropriate safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.
- Supervise children subject to Child Protection Plans, ensuring statutory requirements and safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Undertake assessment and care planning for Looked After Children, ensuring the Council's statutory responsibilities are met.
- Work alongside families and professionals to support children and young people through care and court proceedings where required.
- Provide practice supervision to Social Work students on placement and contribute to their learning and development.
- Participate in duty systems, team meetings, practice meetings, peer supervision, and other relevant forums.
- Maintain professional development through training, supervision, and ongoing learning.
- Promote equality, diversity, health and safety, and anti-discriminatory practice throughout all areas of work.
- Work flexibly across a 36-hour week, including some evening and weekend work where required to fulfil statutory duties.
