Our client, Portsmouth City Council, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join their dedicated Adult Safeguarding Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with strong safeguarding experience to play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults, leading complex safeguarding enquiries, and promoting positive outcomes through collaborative, person-centred practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply professional knowledge, skills, experience, and sound judgement to deliver safeguarding interventions in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and the Pan Hampshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy.
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment, developing strong partnerships with community organisations, health professionals, statutory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Triage adult safeguarding concerns, providing expert advice, undertaking comprehensive risk assessments, and ensuring appropriate actions and referrals are completed within statutory timescales.
- Ensure safeguarding decisions and outcomes are clearly communicated, accurately recorded, and appropriately shared with relevant parties, including referrers where no further action is required.
- Independently manage a professional caseload, taking responsibility for safeguarding enquiries, investigations, reports, and case management activities.
- Lead and undertake Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, non-statutory enquiries, and Multi-Agency Risk Management meetings, ensuring robust and outcome-focused interventions.
- Work creatively and innovatively with complex safeguarding issues, ensuring the wishes, views, and desired outcomes of individuals remain central to all decision-making and interventions.
- Represent the Adult Safeguarding Team at internal and external meetings, forums, case reviews, and multi-agency discussions as required.
- Maintain high-quality, evidence-based practice through critical reflection, professional analysis, and informed decision-making.
