Our client in Shropshire is looking for an experienced Social Worker / Senior Social Worker to join their Children Looked After Service. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social care professional to support children and families, ensuring children receive the right level of support and that their care and pathway plans are progressed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain your personal performance with support and guidance from your Team Manager.
- Undertake a range of assessments, informed by direct intervention and engagement with children and families.
- Progress children's care and pathway plans, ensuring they access the right level of service at the right time.
- Undertake statutory visits to children placed at home, in foster care, and within residential settings, in line with Children Looked After (CLA) requirements.
- Manage cases and coordinate a range of meetings, including care planning, risk management, placement stability, PEPs, and review meetings.
- Provide children and families with appropriate information, advice, and support to help resolve difficulties and achieve positive outcomes.
- Undertaking court work where required, including matters relating to the revocation of care orders, Special Guardianship Orders (SGO), and placement order applications.
- Participate in the team's duty system and contribute to the effective management of cases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date computerised records and documentation in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, carers, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
