We are seeking a skilled and motivated Specialist Social Worker to join our team, working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC), individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), and those experiencing intentional homelessness.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work at the intersection of children's social care, housing, and human rights, supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, legally robust assessments and interventions that safeguard children, prevent destitution, and promote long-term stability and independence.
Duties include:
- Undertaking Child and Family Assessments to inform care planning and safeguarding decisions
- Completing Human Rights Assessments to ensure compliance with the Human Rights Act, ensuring all decisions and plans comply with the Human Rights Act 1998 and uphold individuals' rights to dignity, accommodation, and family life
- Carrying out age assessments (Merton compliant) where required
- Working closely with housing services to assess and respond to homelessness and intentionality
- Developing and reviewing care plans, pathway plans, and housing solutions
- Working in partnership with multi-agency professionals, including health, education, legal representatives, and the Home Office
- Developing good working relationships with colleagues in the field work and children in care services to support smooth transfers to the long-term services
