Our client in Bury Council is seeking an experienced Children's Team Manager to lead and support a dedicated team of social workers delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident leader with extensive child protection experience to oversee the delivery of statutory social work services while ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and practice.
As the Children's Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day provision of field social work services, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, departmental policies, and best practice. You will provide leadership, guidance, and professional oversight to social workers, ensuring that children in need, including those requiring safeguarding and child protection interventions, receive timely and effective support.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers delivering statutory children's social work services.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and departmental policies.
* Oversee the delivery of services to children in need, children subject to child protection plans, and their families.
* Provide professional supervision, guidance, and performance management to team members.
* Promote high-quality assessments, care planning, and effective risk management.
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
* Ensure timely decision-making and maintain high standards of safeguarding practice.
* Drive continuous improvement, quality assurance, and best practice across the service
