Our client, Bradford Council, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to join their Children's Social Care Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled leader to manage and support a team of Social Workers and Community Resource Workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality statutory services that safeguard children, promote their welfare, and achieve positive outcomes for children, young people, and families across the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and Community Resource Workers to deliver high-quality services to children, young people, and families.
- Ensure statutory duties and responsibilities are fulfilled in relation to safeguarding, child protection, children in need, and children looked after.
- Chair multi-agency planning meetings, ensuring effective partnership working and coordinated service delivery across internal and external agencies.
- Allocate and manage workloads effectively, ensuring all cases are appropriately assessed, planned, reviewed, and progressed without delay.
- Ensure care plans are SMART, outcome-focused, and regularly reviewed to achieve positive and timely outcomes for children and families.
- Provide high-quality supervision, appraisal, mentoring, and professional support to team members, promoting continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Monitor and manage team performance, using performance management information and quality assurance processes to drive improvement and achieve local and national targets.
- Undertake regular audits and quality assurance reviews of assessments, plans, case records, and social work documentation to ensure compliance with practice standards and statutory requirements.
- Support recruitment, induction, capability management, attendance management, and workforce development in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Provide professional challenge, critical reflection, and evidence-informed decision-making in complex cases, supporting practitioners to develop analytical thinking and sound professional judgement.
- Participate in and observe front line practice where required to support service improvement and quality assurance.
- Promote the use of research, evidence, and theory to inform practice and improve outcomes for children and families.
- Contribute to service development initiatives, projects, and learning events that support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
