Orisha Housing is currently seeking a Welfare & Compliance Officer to support vulnerable residents while ensuring compliance with housing regulations, safeguarding, and health & safety standards. The organisation operates as a management agent for supported housing providers, working closely with residents who may have complex or additional support needs.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role ideal for someone experienced in welfare support, tenancy sustainment, or compliance within a housing or supported living environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a tenancy sustainment service, supporting residents at varying levels and assisting them to move towards independence
Carry out regular welfare checks and risk assessments
Support residents with benefits applications, budgeting advice, and access to external support services
Monitor and ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
Manage Stage 1 complaints and maintain accurate case notes and records
Liaise effectively with local authorities, support agencies, and internal teams
Contract Details
Initial 4-week temporary contract, with the intention to transition into a direct permanent role
£13.50 PAYE or £17.80 per hour Umbrella
Ideal Candidate
Experience in welfare, compliance, supported housing, or tenancy sustainment
Confident dealing with vulnerable residents and challenging situations
Strong communication, record-keeping, and organisational skills
Knowledge of safeguarding and housing compliance standards
