An education recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within an ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) Base in a well-established special needs school in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed support professional who has a strong understanding of autism and is confident working in structured, specialist environments.
The Role
Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Assisting the class teacher with tailored learning activities and differentiated tasks
Implementing behaviour and communication strategies such as visual timetables and PECS
Encouraging social interaction, emotional regulation and independence
Helping to maintain a calm, predictable and supportive classroom environment
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASC / SEND
School-based experience as a Teaching Assistant
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
